Abstract |
The problem of the indentation of an absolutely stiff cone into an isotropic elastic half-space when there is molecular adhesion between the contacting bodies is investigated. An exact solution of the problem is given within the Johnson-Kendall-Roberts model under the condition of complete sticking (no-slip condition) between the bodies. The solution is compared with the solution of the same adhesive contact problem in the complete absence of friction. |
